Ilhom Madalizoda, founder of Sokhil newspaper, died in Sughd

On March 14, 2022, in the city of Guliston, Madalizoda Ilkhom Rahim died at the age of 62.

Madalizoda Ilkhom Rakhim was born on September 1, 1960 in the village of Adrasmon in the city of Guliston. Graduated from the local secondary school №7. In 1978 he entered the Faculty of History and Philology of the Leninabad State Pedagogical Institute named after Kirov (now Khujand State University named after academician B. Gafurov). In 1982 he graduated from the university with honors.

In 1982-1984 he served in the Armed Forces of the USSR. From 1984 to 1992 he was a teacher in secondary schools No. 5, 7, 8 of the settlements of Adrasmon and Syrdarya. In May 1992, he was elected secretary of the Executive Committee of the Council of People’s Representatives of the city of Kairakkum and worked in this position until January 1995. In 1995-1998 he was the deputy director of the Temurmalik TV company. In the 90s, under his leadership, the publications “Ganjbakhsh”, “Sugdiyon-medicor-777” and “Barkchi” were published.

On March 11, 1988, on the initiative of Ilkhom Madalizoda, the first official newspaper “Sohil” was founded in the city of Kayrakkum. Until April 2012, he was the editor-in-chief of this newspaper. Then he went to work in the executive body of state power of the city of Guliston, where he headed the department for religious affairs. Then he was appointed deputy editor-in-chief and executive secretary of the newspaper “Sukhani Khalq”, editor-in-chief of the newspaper “Madanshinos” of the Mining and Metallurgical University of Tajikistan in the city of Buston. Since 2015, he has been in charge of the public relations department of the Hukumat of the city of Guliston.

Ilkhom Madalizoda was the author of a number of collections entitled “Ashki Shabnam” (2000), “Vatanam – Tochikiston” (2003), “Sadoi Musofiri” (2010) and a collection of short stories and translations “Kashfiyot” (2014). He was a member of the Union of Journalists of Tajikistan.
