Public organization “Public advisors of the Republic of Tajikistan” started implementing the project “Promoting digital security of civil society organizations in Tajikistan”. This project is implemented in partnership with CIVICUS: World Alliance for Citizen Participation and is part of the Digital Democracy Initiative (DDI), a global effort co-funded by the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) and the European Union to help civil society around the world be better prepared to promote inclusive democracy in the digital age.
The goal of this project is to help local civil society actors facing civic space risks, threats and challenges by contributing to increased legal literacy, media literacy and digital hygiene among civil society.
As part of the project, it is planned to conduct trainings to improve legal literacy, media literacy and digital hygiene among human rights defenders, media representatives and bloggers. The organization will also film and broadcast a talk show / online round table on the topic “Guarantees of the rights, freedoms and digital security of civil society” and will produce and broadcast the radio program “Voice of Civil Society”. Lastly, it will develop and distribute informational and educational material among civil society actors that will benefit from the project in Tajikistan to raise awareness about legal literacy, media literacy and digital hygiene.
