Competition for journalists announced in Khujand

The executive body of state power of the city of Khujand announced the acceptance of materials on the topic of preventing domestic violence.

All interested practicing journalists, freelancers, as well as students of the journalism department can take part in the competition, organized at the initiative of the Department for Women and Family Affairs, as well as the press center of the Khujand City Hall.

According to Mamur Yusufov, head of the press service, the competition is held within the framework of the State Program “Prevention of Domestic Violence in the Republic of Tajikistan for 2014-2023.”

“The purpose of the competition is to determine the best media workers in the region, to identify new talents in the field of journalism, who are actively involved in campaigning to prevent violence and gender inequality, to clarify the rights of men and women, and to improve the status of women in society,” said M. Yusufov.

According to him, in the materials provided, the authors should use real facts and data, suggest ways to prevent domestic violence. The competition will be held in four nominations: best article, reportage or television program, best social video and photography.

“The last day for accepting competitive materials is December 1, 2021. All materials must have a note “For the competition”. The results of the competition will be announced on the final day of the campaign “16 days without violence”, which takes place annually in the first decade of December, ”concluded the head of the press service.
