On November 5, in the city of Dushanbe, the 10th anniversary ceremony of presenting the national prize “TOP-50” according to the version of the TV and radio company “Vatan” took place. It is awarded at the end of the year to 50 Tajiks who show an active civic position and make their significant contribution to the development of society. From the Association “Public Assessors of the Republic of Tajikistan”, the ceremony was attended by the project assistant – Takhmina Navruzova.
Top 50 is the Public Recognition Award. There are no financial and material incentives here. It’s about something else. About the recognition of a person’s daily work, filled with meaning, about the importance of personality, about the ability to share, empathize, be involved, about the opportunity to express your gratitude to wonderful people. This is a months-long, painstaking work carried out by the “Vatan” radio team. Each TOP-50 ceremony is dedicated to a specific topic. In 2021, the key theme of the ceremony was “angels in white coats” – medical workers who risk their own lives continue to fight for the lives and health of others. The ceremony marked the doctors whom Tajikistan lost during the pandemic. As a sign of respect for the merits of the fallen doctors, the participants of the event held a symbolic ritual – a minute of silence.
