Public organization “Public advisors of the Republic of Tajikistan” within the framework of the project “People’s Assessors against Torture”, which is being implemented with the financial support of the “International Partnership for Human Rights – IPHR”, conducted a series of trainings for people’s assessors of the courts in Sughd region.
The purpose of the training was aimed at increasing the level of information and legal literacy and activating newly elected – appointed people’s assessors during participation in court proceedings. Also during the training, special attention was paid to the topic of “torture” and the standards of responsibility for its use within the framework of national and international legislation.
