A group of journalists, writers and poets from Uzbekistan got acquainted with the activities of the media and the sights of the region.
On the Day of the Tajik Press, March 11, the administrative center of the Sughd region – the city of Khujand was visited by a group of journalists, writers and poets from the Syrdarya region of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Guests from the neighboring country visited the historical museum of the Sughd region, the house-museum of Kamoli Khujandi and got acquainted with the history and culture of the Tajik people.
As the head of the Society of Uzbeks in the Sughd region Farhod Juraev noted, in the “Kohi matbuot” of the city of Khujand, with the participation of guests, meetings were held with employees of the regional publications “Sughd Khakikati”, “Sugd Pravda” and “Khakikati Sughd”.
“A group of Uzbek journalists got acquainted with the activities of their colleagues and congratulated them on their professional holiday. It was noted that friendship and mutually beneficial relations between the two friendly countries dates back to ancient times,” said Farhod Juraev.
The head of the Sughd regional branch of the Union of Journalists of Tajikistan, Ilkhom Jamoliyon, the editor-in-chief of the Sirdaryo Khakikati newspaper, Muhammad Ismoil, and other journalists expressed their hope for fruitful cooperation between the creative intelligentsia of the two neighboring countries.
In turn, the guests from Uzbekistan thanked their Tajik colleagues for the warm welcome and invited them to the Syrdarya region of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
